About the Role
Black & McDonald’s Streetlight team is seeking an independent, enthusiastic, and driven Inventory Coordinator to build a solid foundation for their career. This on-site role typically reports directly to the Project Manager and involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling inventory for project needs in collaboration with the Yard Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Manager in day-to-day inventory activities.
- Maintain close communication and coordination with the yard coordinator.
- Manage and maintain inventory levels to required standards.
- Periodically review and adjust inventory min/max levels based on fluctuating work levels.
- Analyze JDE inventory reports to assess needed inventory material for replenishment.
- Create material requisitions for inventory ordering and coordinate with admin staff to place orders.
- Physically receive incoming deliveries and organize materials in the yard with the yard coordinator.
- Update JDE inventory receiving and post batches using vendor packing slips.
- Coordinate with field crews and compile inventory replenishment packages for crew pickup.
- Liaise with procurement and vendors to fulfill orders and follow up on shipment issues.
- Learn and manage the full inventory process.
- Coordinate periodic inventory cycle counts and work with finance to update JDE accordingly, including after-hours work.
- Periodically review process flow mapping and update as required.
- Manage document control.
- Provide monthly inventory reports to the division manager and project manager.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
- 1-2 years of experience in the construction sector or inventory coordination is an asset.
- Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
- JD Edwards knowledge would be considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License is required.
- A Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
