About the Role

Seeking an experienced procurement professional to join the Shipping Operations team, responsible for purchasing goods and services for Venture Global Shipping Vessels. This role partners with Ship Management and Newbuild teams to ensure timely fulfillment of equipment, materials, and consumables to support vessel schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate needs, negotiate with local vendors, and ensure timely delivery of materials while adhering to vessel specifications and budget constraints.
• Collect daily procurement requests and identify material needs from ship crews and operations teams.
• Develop and distribute requests for quotes, collect proposals, and prepare/issue Purchase Orders in line with corporate Procurement Policy and Procedures.
• Utilize industry knowledge to find approved alternative sources for business needs.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to vessel ports.
• Provide regular updates on procurement activities, including requests out for quote, purchase orders issued, and supplier contacts.
• Support the execution of the Supplier Performance Management program.
• Maintain material purchase requests, supplier proposals, purchasing records, and supplier feedback documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent in business, supply chain, sourcing, or a related field.
• Knowledge of local suppliers and market dynamics.
• Experience with a computerized procurement system (MariApps, Coupa, MS Office).
• Self-starter with the ability to work strategically under little direction.
• Ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders across the organization.
• Strong knowledge of procurement procedures and sourcing practices.
• Ability to establish relationships with third-party suppliers.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders, specifications, and quality checks.
• Effective communication skills with suppliers, stakeholders, and vessel personnel.
• Ability to handle unexpected issues and find solutions on-site.
• Willingness to report to the office daily, with occasional nights and weekend work required.
• Periodic travel to business locations, headquarters, and/or suppliers in various domestic and international locations will be required.
