About the Role
This role involves carrying out performance analytics, performance reporting, and investment reporting for all IFM Investors products. It includes conducting in-depth performance analysis, checking and overseeing analysts' work, and providing guidance. The position also supports the team in delivering quality reporting, managing schedules, and compiling analytical reports using various systems. Project work to improve processes and systems, monitoring outgoing communications, leading technical discussions, and contributing to risk identification are also key aspects. The role supports the wider Investment Operations and Client Services department.
Responsibilities
- Carry out performance analytics, performance reporting, and investment reporting for all IFM Investors products.
- Conduct in-depth performance analysis for a broad range of products and asset classes, including modeling, complex attribution analysis, and risk-return analysis.
- Assist in checking and overseeing analysts' work to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Support and provide guidance to Analysts for Performance and Risk Analytics related issues.
- Support the team in providing quality reporting and ensuring technical competence and professionalism standards are met.
- Organize, manage, and monitor the team’s schedule and inbox to ensure timely service delivery.
- Provide coverage in compiling, analyzing, and producing performance and analytical reporting via B-One, FactSet, Bloomberg, and in-house systems.
- Undertake project work to improve processes/procedures and departmental system usage.
- Monitor the quality of outgoing communications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead technical discussions with Clients, Investment teams, and IFM internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all personal training records are maintained and kept up to date.
- Contribute to the identification of emerging risks, trends, and developments in the support environment.
- Participate in the implementation of solutions for identified risks and trends.
- Apply and encourage a culture of continuous improvement to change or develop new practices and procedures.
- Apply and encourage a culture of continuous improvement, innovative practice, and new procedures to achieve IFM's strategic business objectives.
- Provide data and reports for internal IFM teams as needed.
- Assist in new product development as directed.
- Assist in providing feedback on operations and resources for IFM Investors’ product performance and reporting requirements, including systems.
- Provide accurate and timely performance and reporting requirements, including product performance calculations, performance contribution and attribution versus benchmark calculations, population of periodic performance reports, population of key IFM performance and asset-based reporting, FUM and commitment reporting, and fund performance fee calculations.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in performance analytics/performance reporting roles at Asset Owners, Funds Management, Funds administration, or Custody firms within the financial services industry, servicing institutional investors.
- Experience with Private Markets, Fixed Income, and/or Infrastructure asset classes is highly desirable.
- Must be a team player with effective time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Ability to work effectively with other departments within the firm.
- Dealing with large amounts of data with strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to identify and undertake investigation of data inconsistencies.
- Working within tight deadlines to provide consistently accurate reporting.
- Fostering good relationships with various areas of the business, clients, and consultants.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of IFM Investors’ products and services.
- Good understanding of all IFM asset classes.
- Excellent performance analytics and attribution knowledge.
- Very good investment market knowledge (including unlisted assets).
- Highly developed and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed and demonstrated analytical & numeric skills are essential.
- Highly developed and demonstrated verbal/written communication skills are essential.
- Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Aladdin.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel.
- Some VBA knowledge.
- Very good knowledge of FactSet (B-One, PA3 & SPAR).
