About the Role

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will engage in the exchange of scientific data and sharing of clinical information on a peer-to-peer basis with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). You are responsible for providing balanced and objective scientific information and education to healthcare customers and to internal business partners as required by the needs of the business. Externally, the role will be informed via insights on scientific trends and competition within the therapeutic area and you will work to develop and deliver the customer experience and enhance relationships with Key Thought Leaders (KTLs) through multi-channel engagement and customer preference.

Responsibilities

  • Increase brand awareness through scientific exchange of safety and efficacy data.
  • Establish professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide balanced and objective scientific information and education to healthcare customers and internal business partners.
  • Gather and communicate insights on scientific trends and competition.
  • Develop and deliver the customer experience and enhance relationships with Key Thought Leaders (KTLs).
  • Remain up to date with scientific trends, knowledge, and competitor activity.
  • Ensure company compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and laws.
  • Provide medical expertise on patient/drug safety and medical topics.
  • Provide medical expertise to ensure accuracy of data to support product promotion.
  • Provide scientific support to Commercial.
  • Provide accurate, unbiased, balanced, and timely answers to KTLs and decision makers regarding products.
  • Interact with relevant stakeholders to discuss scientific information and implement the local strategic plan.
  • Gather and communicate insights through the company insight capturing system.
  • Contribute to medical material, review marketing material, and deliver trainings.
  • Ensure scientific and clinical accuracy for specific products or brands.
  • Comply with relevant training and SOPs.
  • Contribute to local internal scientific training and ensure continuous Medical education.
  • Implement Medical KTL scientific interaction plans, liaising with Commercial colleagues.
  • Maintain MA Code compliance.
  • Positively impact external perceptions and knowledge regarding the company and its products.
  • Maintain and demonstrate comprehensive and in-depth scientific TA knowledge.
  • Ensure operational excellence by sharing best practices.
  • Provide comprehensive scientific education on disease states, therapeutic options, and research advances.
  • Support Medical studies, coordinate local clinical projects, and contribute to site selection.
  • Support local publication process, dissemination, and alignment with publication plans.
  • Support communications for ISS between investigators and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations for field support and site selection.
  • Provide support with presentation and discussion on local studies at internal study review committee meetings.
  • Sponsor visible, active change management for transitioning to new customer experience and engagement models.
  • Implement digital programs effectively.
  • Manage through data collection and usage analysis, adapting digital channels to align with customer preference.
  • Manage data interpretation and actions arising from behavioral customer insights.
  • Implement the medical strategy for customer engagement through digital and personal tailored plans.
  • Deliver relevant content that maps to each segment along the customer journey.
  • Implement training on new technology applications to interact with HCPs.
  • Collaborate on instruction for corporate usage guidelines, appropriate content usage, compliance considerations, and personalization methods.

Requirements

  • University degree (Bachelor’s) required, preferably in a scientific field of relevance to the position.
  • Secondary/advanced scientific qualification (e.g., MSc, PharmD, PhD, DO, MD) required.
  • Scientific and/or clinical or research experience/training specific to the therapeutic area strongly preferred (minimum of 2 years).
  • Previous MSL/RML or related pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Understanding of regulatory, commercial, market access, and clinical issues affecting the industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical research methodology and Good Clinical Practice preferred.
  • Self-starter with highly effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships and interaction at all levels.
  • Positive attitude, result-oriented, competent, and a good team-player with a customer focus mindset.
  • Independent, high integrity, lots of personal initiatives, and demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, both oral and written English.
  • Highly developed presentation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
