About the Role

The Energy Compliance Analyst will support the Energy division within U.S. Venture, focusing on business continuity and regulatory support for new commercial activity, particularly within the renewable business. This role involves communication with internal and external partners to complete compliance activities and foster development within the Energy Compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of compliance programs for U.S. Venture Energy division activities.
  • Compile registration, reporting, and audit obligations for state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare renewable instrument transaction processes, including reporting for RINs, LCFS/CFP credits, allowances, offsets, VCUs, and RECs.
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures related to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop industry relationships to stay informed about regulatory and compliance changes.
  • Understand the regulatory framework and evaluate areas of significant risk.
  • Align processes with business needs and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate with Operations for day-to-day functions to adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve potential problems or pitfalls.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to remove redundancies.
  • Attend training to expand industry and regulatory knowledge.

Requirements

  • Confident in analytical skills and strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and stay organized.
  • Clear and timely communication with external counterparties, comfortable leading calls.
  • Comfortable working with complex regulatory text and interpreting detailed requirements.
  • Ability to be firm and direct while maintaining professionalism.
  • Steadiness in handling delays, slow responses, or shifting priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, Audit or a related field in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience working with outside/external parties or clients.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to develop cross-functional relationships and responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and high-level attention to detail.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and must not require U.S. Venture’s sponsorship.
