About the Role
Our Band 1 ranked Competition, Regulation and Trade practice is expanding, and we have the opportunity for an experienced Solicitor or Senior Associate to join the team. This role can be based in the Sydney or Melbourne office. Our competition practice works as both a close national and global team, which will provide career opportunities you simply cannot get elsewhere.
Responsibilities
- Advise on the full spectrum of competition, consumer law and regulatory work, including cartel and behavioural investigations, litigation, merger clearances, and regulatory advice.
- Supervise junior lawyers, cultivating a strong team culture and supporting their development.
- Work successfully to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously.
- Strengthen relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to support the ongoing growth of the practice.
- Develop expertise with the new merger control regime.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years' post qualification experience in a leading competition law team or relevant regulator experience in Australia.
- In-depth experience with a range of competition and consumer law matters, particularly merger clearances.
- An excellent academic record, and natural commitment to continuous learning.
- Strong communication skills.
- A curiosity about our client's businesses.
