Responsibilities
- Analyze mortality/morbidity risk to determine appropriate underwriting requirements and assign cases to the appropriate risk category by analyzing and interpreting underwriting evidence.
- Provide technical expertise and support to client companies.
- Work productively in a high-pressure environment and effectively manage challenging situations.
- Act independently within specified authority.
- Support departmental management by providing input, assisting in training, leading team discussions, participating in projects, and contributing to the resolution of technical or client issues.
- Contribute to a positive working environment through teamwork and innovation.
- Participate in RGA events and industry activities and foster relationships with key clients.
Requirements
- College diploma, university degree, or equivalent working experience.
- 3 years of underwriting experience including experience with substandard business, medical and financial underwriting.
- Underwriting authority up to $1M (Life) and Critical Illness authority is strongly preferred.
- Service-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Bilingual French/English (oral and written) is required.
- Multiple lines of business (Life, DI, CI) is an asset.
