About the Role
As a Sales Manager, you will have total ownership of the sales experience within your store, playing a critical role in achieving company objectives. You will lead, coach, and develop a team of high-performing direct reports, fostering a customer-centric environment while serving as a steward of the Saks Fifth Avenue brand.
Responsibilities
- Actively recruit and onboard new hires to build a talent bench.
- Train and develop top talent by setting clear goals and identifying growth opportunities.
- Foster an environment of accountability by enforcing policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and calibrate performance, providing consistent feedback and coaching.
- Develop direct reports to build their personal brand as fashion authorities.
- Drive education initiatives focused on product knowledge, client events, and selling techniques.
- Promote a positive environment of achievement and recognition.
- Resolve work-related conflicts and empower the team to solve customer problems.
- Oversee scheduling based on business needs and promotional calendars.
- Encourage team collaboration and open feedback.
- Model exceptional service and client relationship building.
- Execute client development initiatives and collaborate with marketing, vendors, and merchants.
- Use data-driven methods to identify patterns in client spend and increase wallet share.
- Leverage social media, referrals, and networking to acquire new clients.
- Drive sales growth through the development of client advisors.
- Manage team execution and anticipate risks to maintain operational excellence.
- Analyze customer behaviors and industry trends to adjust strategies.
- Support audit compliance for department and stockroom controls.
- Champion change initiatives and share best practices with the team.
Requirements
- Relevant experience leading a team with direct reports.
- Proven track record of managing a selling and operations workforce and achieving business results.
- Proficiency in clienteling tools, social media for selling, and Google Workspace.
- History of building, leading, motivating, and coaching teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
