About the Role

As a Staff Product Manager at BuildOps, you will shape the financial supply chain platform, enabling contractors to manage materials, inventory, job costs, and vendor payments with enhanced accuracy and efficiency. This role offers significant ownership and visibility at the intersection of field operations, finance, and engineering, directly influencing ARR growth, customer retention, and BuildOps' market position.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Procurement and Inventory.
  • Lead the development of next-generation material purchasing and management systems for contractors.
  • Build products that provide real-time insights into material needs, inventory levels, consumption, and profitability impact.
  • Define and evolve core workflows including material requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, receiving, inventory costing, and job-level consumption.
  • Create a contractor-grade inventory system to reduce stockouts, prevent overbuying, and improve purchasing control.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers, ERP platforms, and internal teams to integrate procurement and inventory workflows.
  • Apply AI and automation to streamline purchasing, receiving, invoice matching, and exception resolution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Customer Experience, Sales, Implementation, and Finance to ship impactful products.
  • Develop and coach other product managers on discovery, product quality, strategic thinking, and achieving measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience with direct ownership of procurement, supply chain, inventory, accounts payable, or ERP-adjacent products in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Deep working knowledge of purchase orders, inventory management, accounts payable, and their connection to job costing, cost controls, and general ledger systems.
  • Hands-on familiarity with one or more ERP or accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Spectrum, Vista, Acumatica, ComputerEase).
  • Strong technical fluency with APIs, data models, and integration architecture.
  • Experience partnering with third-party platforms, ERP systems, suppliers, or embedded finance providers.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in procurement and supply chain workflows.
  • A strategic thinker with a bias for action and strong product judgment.
  • Holds a high standard for operational and financial accuracy.
  • Genuinely curious about the trades industry and motivated by solving complex workflow problems.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally across product, engineering, finance, customer-facing teams, and external partners.
  • Ability to coach other product managers and elevate team quality.
  • Energized by high-growth environments and ambitious product challenges.

Salary/Compensations

  • Toronto: 172,000.00 - 215,000.00 CAD base salary + bonus opportunity
  • Raleigh: $190,000.00 - $234,000.00 base salary + bonus opportunity
  • LA/SF: $197,000.00 - $246,000.00 base salary + bonus opportunity
