About the Role

rand* construction is seeking a dynamic Traveling Superintendent to join their team. This role involves working on exciting projects in different markets, often with extended overnight stays out of town, and offers opportunities for learning, growth, and contributing to extraordinary client service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all field staff on a project.
  • Ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
  • Supervise the work of all subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure material, tools/equipment, information, and staff requirements are on the jobsite in a timely fashion.
  • Handle all correspondence and forms required by the rand* office, including daily reports, time sheets, safety reports, and accident reports.
  • Monitor work being performed and direct subcontractors.
  • Schedule all work according to project schedule requirements.
  • Effectively utilize management skills in directing supervision of subcontractors.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities within the scope of their duties.
  • Promote rand*'s reputation for exceptional client service.
  • Periodically audit jobsites during site walks to ensure standards are being met.
  • Assist teams with complex and specialty quality control issues.
  • Assist teams with pre-punch walks to identify quality trends and ensure a smooth/timely punch list process.
  • Set the example of 'do and teach' by training and coaching Superintendents at all levels to meet rand*'s high standards of administration and organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or experience working in the trades is required.
  • Must have 15 years’ experience as lead superintendent on commercial interior, retail or building renovation projects.
  • Must have 6 years’ experience as lead superintendent on commercial interior projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Capable of managing projects up to $10M.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.

  • Excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Proven track record of independent judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to anticipate and be proactive.
  • Ability to deal professionally and diplomatically with individuals at all levels.
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve highly complex project-related issues.
  • Ability to manage deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments with strong attention to detail.
  • OSHA Competent Persons Training preferred.
  • College experience preferred.

Location

  • Travel may range from 90 miles from a local rand* office, to other states across the country.
