About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, journey-level Mold Remediation Technician to perform full-scope mold assessment, containment, abatement, and remediation work. This role requires a professional who can work independently, lead containment operations, and ensure all work is executed in full compliance with Texas DSHS requirements, EPA guidelines, and IICRC S520 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-containment mold remediation operations, including critical barrier setup, negative air pressure systems, and decontamination chambers

  • Apply antimicrobial treatments, encapsulants, and sealants to remediated surfaces
  • Operate and monitor air filtration devices (AFDs), negative air machines, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers throughout remediation
  • Perform operations and maintenance-level mold interventions, including localized containment and spot remediation, using appropriate work practices for the scope of disturbance
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls for water intrusion or active mold situations as needed
  • Perform all work in full compliance with Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) regulations, EPA guidelines, OSHA standards, and applicable local requirements
  • Read, interpret, and execute work from project scopes, drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions
  • Document labor, materials, and scope completion for each project; complete daily field reports and timesheets accurately
  • Maintain accurate photo documentation throughout remediation and clearance phases
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain personal respiratory protection equipment, HEPA vacuums, airless and pump-up sprayers, negative air machines, and other shop tools to ensure proper function
  • Maintain equipment and supply inventory; flag items for repair or replenishment proactively
  • Safely operate company vehicles and transport equipment to and from job sites
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in the shop and at all job sites
  • Oversee subcontractors and labor support during remediation operations; ensure proper protocols are followed at all times
  • Advise non-remediation staff on correct procedures when mold or water damage is encountered
  • Communicate clearly with project managers and the office team regarding scope, progress, and any field concerns
  • Mentor entry-level field technicians on proper techniques, safety, and regulatory compliance

  • Comfortable wearing full PPE for extended durations: half-face or full-face respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, and eye protection
  • Demonstrated proficiency in full-containment setup, negative air systems, and remediation scope execution
