About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer (Director level) in the Structured Notes technology team, you will lead a team of 15 engineers to design and deliver a next-generation issuance platform. This role involves shaping architecture, driving technical excellence, and partnering with global stakeholders across trading, structuring, and operations to support a high-value business area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 15 engineers to drive delivery, performance, and technical excellence.
  • Own the architecture and design of the structured notes issuance platform to ensure scalability and resilience.
  • Deliver high-quality, business-critical functionality aligned with front office and operational requirements.
  • Act as a hands-on technical leader across Python, Java, React, MongoDB, OpenShift, and Camunda.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and development processes.
  • Partner with global stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate across global teams to ensure aligned and consistent platform delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement through modern engineering practices, automation, and DevOps principles.

Requirements

  • Strong experience leading and developing engineering teams with a focus on high-performance culture.
  • Solid technical background with hands-on experience in modern software development including Python, Java, microservices, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, resilient platforms within complex, business-critical environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with front office and global teams.
