About the Role

The London Market Claims team is seeking a market-facing individual to handle a portfolio of complex claims within financial authority, contributing to the Hiscox offering and seeking continuous improvement. This role will primarily manage claims from the Power and Renewables and Upstream Energy accounts, working with underwriters and the claims team to define the claims service proposition through a dynamic, client-facing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Independently handle a portfolio of Power and Renewable and Upstream Energy claims.
  • Support junior staff with technical referrals and mentorship.
  • Assist the Claims Manager with technical reporting and stakeholder liaison.
  • Participate in quarterly account reviews and the reserving process.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and claims colleagues to add value, build the brand, and retain business.
  • Support the Claims Manager in designing and implementing the claims service proposition.
  • Travel for settlement meetings, client liaison, and conferences.
  • Interact with key internal and external stakeholders on claims-related matters.

Requirements

  • Significant experience handling Energy claims, ideally 7 years or more within the London Market.
  • Experience at an insurer, loss adjusting firm, or broking house.
  • Excellent market reputation and established relationships in the energy insurance industry.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Confident communicator with demonstrable oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues pragmatically, commercially, and with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to use own initiative and make decisions confidently.
  • Ability to question the norm and seek 'a better way'.
  • Good mathematical skills and report writing capability.
