About the Role

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Assistant Building Manager to support the Building Manager in overseeing the day-to-day management of a trophy building. This role offers exposure to compliance, operational performance, financial management, sustainability, and occupier engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Building Manager in daily operational management of commercial properties.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities using CAFM systems.
  • Manage occupier queries and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Assist with maintaining legal and statutory compliance, including health and safety.
  • Monitor contractor performance.
  • Support property inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Raise purchase orders, process invoices, and assist with budget management.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, audits, and emergency planning.
  • Support sustainability reporting and environmental data maintenance.
  • Assist with insurance claims, complaint resolution, and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide cover for the Building Manager during absences.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, occupiers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Facilities Management, Property Management, or Building Management.
  • Strong understanding of performance-based contracts and service delivery standards.
  • Experience working collaboratively with property, finance, and operational teams.
  • Knowledge of budget monitoring, cost control, and service charge management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client and occupier relationships.
  • Experience managing contractors and service partners.
  • Understanding of current legislation and compliance requirements for commercial property management.
  • Working knowledge of CAFM systems and electronic logbook platforms.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting colleague development.
  • Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
