About the Role
Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Assistant Building Manager to support the Building Manager in overseeing the day-to-day management of a trophy building. This role offers exposure to compliance, operational performance, financial management, sustainability, and occupier engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support the Building Manager in daily operational management of commercial properties.
- Coordinate maintenance activities using CAFM systems.
- Manage occupier queries and ensure prompt resolution.
- Assist with maintaining legal and statutory compliance, including health and safety.
- Monitor contractor performance.
- Support property inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Raise purchase orders, process invoices, and assist with budget management.
- Contribute to risk assessments, audits, and emergency planning.
- Support sustainability reporting and environmental data maintenance.
- Assist with insurance claims, complaint resolution, and stakeholder communications.
- Provide cover for the Building Manager during absences.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, occupiers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Facilities Management, Property Management, or Building Management.
- Strong understanding of performance-based contracts and service delivery standards.
- Experience working collaboratively with property, finance, and operational teams.
- Knowledge of budget monitoring, cost control, and service charge management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client and occupier relationships.
- Experience managing contractors and service partners.
- Understanding of current legislation and compliance requirements for commercial property management.
- Working knowledge of CAFM systems and electronic logbook platforms.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting colleague development.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
