About the Role

As Social Strategy Director, you will lead the strategic direction of social across key accounts and new business opportunities. You will work closely with creative, client services, and leadership teams to shape social-first strategies that are culturally sharp, platform-native, and commercially effective. This role involves defining content and creator approaches, building frameworks to elevate strategic thinking, and creating distinctive and effective social work. You will serve as a senior strategic voice, a trusted client partner, and a mentor, bringing clarity, ambition, and creative rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead social strategy across key client accounts, ensuring work is rooted in audience insight, cultural relevance, and platform-native thinking.
  • Develop social-first strategies spanning brand, content, creator, community, and amplification.
  • Shape the strategic foundations behind creative ideas, content territories, campaign narratives, and creator approaches.
  • Turn trends, audience behavior, and platform insight into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a senior strategic partner to clients, leading workshops, presentations, and planning conversations with confidence.
  • Lead strategic thinking on pitches and growth opportunities, creating compelling narratives that help win new business.
  • Build frameworks, tools, and ways of working that improve the consistency and quality of strategic output.
  • Work closely with the creative, account handling, and leadership teams to ensure strategy is integrated, inspiring, and practical to deliver.
  • Mentor and develop juniors, helping raise the bar across thinking, storytelling, and presentation craft.
  • Contribute to thought leadership across the agency through POVs, trend sessions, and strategic insight.

Requirements

  • Proven senior strategy experience within a social agency.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, internet culture, creator ecosystems, and audience behavior.
  • Strong grasp of what makes ideas work in social, both strategically and creatively.
  • Experience developing social and creator strategies that feel native to platforms and useful to creative teams.
  • Confidence leading senior client conversations and presenting strategic thinking clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong pitch experience, with the ability to turn briefs into clear, sellable opportunities.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance creative ambition with practical delivery.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring and developing teams.
  • A sharp point of view on where social, creators, and culture are heading next.
