About the Role

The Research Coordinator will participate in the planning and execution of research, contribute to the co-construction of research activities, collaborate on studies, and administer surveys. They will ensure adherence to ethical standards and participate in the dissemination and transfer of research results, working closely with university teams, partners, and observatory members.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the coordination of activities for the development and co-construction of research projects.
  • Update knowledge on francophone immigration.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and lead qualitative, quantitative, and participatory research activities.
  • Document research processes and methodologies.
  • Prepare and submit applications to the UOF research ethics committee.
  • Write and disseminate research results (reports, theses, articles, conferences).
  • Contribute to the development of the observatory's partner network.
  • Contribute to the preparation of funding applications, reports, and follow-ups with partners, funders, and research organizations.
  • Participate in meetings with organizations and groups that can provide data useful to the observatory's research work.
  • Participate in work meetings.
  • Perform any other related tasks or responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social sciences or equivalent (a doctorate is an asset).
  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in data collection, interpretation, and organization.
  • Experience in research funding acquisition.
  • Experience in research project coordination.

Skills

  • Good knowledge of social and community environments in francophone minority contexts and in the field of francophone immigration.
  • Good understanding of government immigration policies in Canada.
  • Ability to generate interest from collaborators and partners for the observatory's work and maintain trust.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in research funding acquisition (grants, donations).
  • Ability to contribute to the development and execution of research projects.
  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in French; proficiency in English is an asset.
  • Good command of various research methods.
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, and results communication skills.
  • Very good knowledge of office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google).
  • Ability to work under pressure.
