About the Role
As a full-time, seasonal staff member, you will support students' social, emotional, and cultural development, design and guide excursions, facilitate skill-building activities, and manage child safety and risks. This role offers a chance to develop skills in conflict management, child development, and language teaching within an innovative and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver fun and engaging activities and excursions to international students.
- Follow Alpadia’s innovative approach to language immersion and experiential learning.
- Ensure students have a meaningful, adventurous time filled with learning and personal growth.
- Provide expert supervision and ensure student safety.
- Take an active role in daily camp operations, including attendance checks.
- Assist with wake-ups and bedtime routines.
- Lead camp-wide Evening Programs.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in a professional capacity.
- Some German proficiency (spoken B1-B2 minimum).
- Ability to learn activity-specific vocabulary to ensure language immersion.
- Fluency in English.
- High physical, mental, and emotional resilience.
- Experience in meaningful, professional teamwork.
- High energy level, excitement, and comfort speaking in front of large groups.
- Availability for at least 5 weeks of the summer.
- Fluency in German and English (desired).
- Experience in outdoor education or summer camps (desired).
- Driver’s License and ability to drive a minivan (desired).
- Availability for the entire summer season (June 27 – August 8) and during pre-camp staff training (June 24-27) (desired).
- Must provide/undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
- Must provide 3 professional references.
- Must provide overseas conduct certificates where applicable.
