About the Role

Responsibilities
- Operation, further development, and modernization of our IT infrastructure (Linux & Windows)
- Administration and further development of our network infrastructure (Firewalls, Routing, Switching, VPN)
- Administration of virtualization and storage systems (Proxmox, VMware/ESXi, Huawei/HPE, etc.)
- Support for diverse departmental applications and special solutions
- Planning and execution of maintenance work, patch management, and monitoring
- Analysis, automation, and documentation of processes and IT services
- Collaboration with other IT teams (DevOps, Helpdesk, Network), including occasional support for escalated support requests
- Participation in IT projects (e.g., VM modernization, PKI, KRITIS compliance)
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a System Engineer or Senior System Administrator
- In-depth knowledge of Linux server administration (Debian, CentOS, etc.)
- Solid Windows Server knowledge (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies)
- Proven experience in network operations: Firewalls, Routing, Switching, VPN Gateways – you can read, debug, and structure a network effectively
- Experience with Proxmox and/or VMware/ESXi, as well as storage and backup systems
- Independent, structured way of working – even without complete documentation
- Enjoyment of automation (Ansible, Shell/Python, or similar) and knowledge transfer within the team
- Willingness to take responsibility and drive topics forward, not just process them
