Responsibilities
- Operation and further development of our predominantly Linux-based IT infrastructure
- Administration of virtualization and storage systems (Proxmox, VMware/ESXi)
- Support for departmental applications and special solutions
- Patch management, monitoring, and maintenance planning
- Automation and documentation of IT processes
- Collaboration with Senior Engineers, DevOps, and Helpdesk – also pitching in with escalated support requests
- Participation in ongoing IT projects (VM modernization, monitoring expansion, etc.)
Requirements
- At least ~5 years of practical experience as a System Administrator or System Engineer
- Solid Linux knowledge (administration, troubleshooting, shell scripting) – this is your core
- Experience with virtualization: Proxmox and/or VMware/ESXi
- Experience with backup and monitoring systems (e.g., Veeam, Checkmk, or similar)
- Independent, structured way of working – you can find your way around without perfect documentation
- Willingness to learn and curiosity: you are smart enough to quickly grasp new topics
- Team player mentality: not a lone wolf, but also not in standby mode
