About the Role
We are seeking dynamic Tax professionals with Business/Corp Tax experience to join our growing team, offering tremendous growth and development opportunities. Responsibilities
- Prepare difficult business returns.
- Review tax returns/work files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, providing feedback and training to staff.
- Monitor tax deadlines to ensure timely preparation of returns and communicate with managers regarding tax issues and workflow.
- Perform tax research and train staff on research methodologies, including scheduling annual tax research training sessions.
- Complete research projects, preparing written conclusions subject to review.
- Assist audit and accounting staff with tax-related inquiries.
- Understand and apply tax accruals.
- Respond to IRS or state tax notices.
- Train interns and staff on responding to tax notices, review their work for accuracy, and supervise workflow on less complex returns.
- Identify problems and opportunities for research or non-compliance work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (Masters in Tax is a plus).
- CPA license is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of tax experience within a public accounting firm.
- Experience with all different entity types.
- Ideal tax experience servicing middle market and/or large company clients.
- Background in Partnerships, S Corporations, and C Corporations.
- Working knowledge of paperless systems like GoFileRoom.
- Familiarity with tax software such as Caseware & ProSystems.
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills.
- Enjoy working with people and understand the importance of nurturing client relationships.
- Ethical, conscientious, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
