About the Role
This is a crucial role to support the production capabilities of the site to ensure equipment is repaired and maintained in a safe, compliant and timely manner. You will be a part of a hard-working team that is highly collaborative and takes pride in keeping our machinery and equipment in peak working order.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance of on-site mechanical systems or equipment, adhering to safety standards, food safety compliance, and engineering standards.
- Conduct mechanical maintenance, including reactive, corrective, and preventative work on both offline and online equipment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for mechanical maintenance needs and escalate issues beyond your scope according to company protocols.
- Complete assigned work, including scoping material and labor requirements for identified 'requests for work'.
- Investigate technical and mechanical issues and report safety or food safety incidents promptly.
Requirements
- Experience as a Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter in FMCG or the Food Manufacturing Industry.
- Comfortable working on a busy food manufacturing site.
- Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, power transmission, and fluid transfer systems.
- Background knowledge of refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, and waste-water treatment plants.
- Strong team player with a collaborative and cross-functional approach.
- Proactive and 'go-getter' mindset.
- Attend a phone interview and an on-site interview.
- Submit evidence of Trade Qualifications and Driver's Licence.
- Agree to completing a Pre-Employment Medical.
- Agree to allowing RPF to contact up to two references.
