About the Role
This role establishes and nurtures profitable partnerships with corporate and individual clients, acting as a bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs to ensure mutual benefit and long-term success. You will support coverage bankers in a lean, growth-focused team across both Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and International Corporate clients, gaining broad exposure to client relationship management and business development activities. When bankers are away, you will effectively deputise, maintaining continuity of client engagement and supporting origination momentum. You are expected to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of executions end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
- Analyze data from various sources, including investment portfolios and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
- Research and understand client industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
- Design customized solutions addressing specific client needs and objectives using the bank's product and service portfolio.
- Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, justify recommendations, and negotiate beneficial terms.
- Provide guidance to clients on financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management, and wealth management strategies.
- Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships and implement mitigation measures.
- Document client interactions, transactions, and agreements for transparency and auditability.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness.
- Perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, consistently driving continuous improvement.
- Lead and supervise a team, guiding professional development, allocating work, and coordinating resources (if applicable).
- Create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver excellent standards (if applicable).
- Develop technical expertise in work area and act as an advisor (if applicable).
- Partner with other functions and business areas.

Requirements
- Corporate Banking experience with exposure to credit and risk management preferred.
- Experience with financial statement analysis, modelling, and marketing materials preparation.
- Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
- Experience in live deals.
- Good stakeholder management skills with both internal and external parties.
- Self-starter with an ability to work both independently and with minimal supervision.
- May be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, as well as job-specific technical skills.
- This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
