About the Role
Dutton Automotive, a leading Australian automotive retailer, seeks an experienced Automotive Buyer to procure quality vehicles from wholesale channels, trade partners, and dealer networks. This fast-paced, commercially focused role requires leveraging existing relationships and market knowledge to identify, negotiate, and secure profitable stock, directly contributing to business success.
Responsibilities
- Source, appraise, and purchase vehicles through wholesale networks, auctions, and dealer contacts
- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with wholesalers, dealers, and trade partners
- Negotiate pricing and secure profitable purchases in line with market demand
- Accurately appraise and evaluate vehicles to ensure quality and value
- Work closely with sales, operations, and logistics teams to ensure smooth vehicle acquisition and delivery
- Stay across market trends, pricing shifts, and competitive activity
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Buyer with a strong track record in wholesale vehicle sourcing
- Established network and relationships across wholesale, dealer, and trade channels
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with a results-driven mindset
- In-depth knowledge of the used car market, including prestige, exotic, and commercial vehicles
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a high-performing team
- A sharp eye for detail and strong commercial acumen
