About the Role
This role is responsible for academic communication, including establishing and maintaining relationships with opinion leaders, collaborating with external experts in urology, uro-oncology, and gastroenterology, sharing new data with medical experts, and providing medical expertise training to colleagues. The position also involves close collaboration with the marketing and promotion team to offer scientific support at both strategic and daily levels.
Responsibilities
- Collect and manage medical insights, maintaining a deep understanding of the therapeutic area.
- Develop the annual medical strategy under the supervision of the line manager.
- Supervise, develop, and manage Phase IV studies and Investigator-Initiated Studies (IITs), ensuring alignment with local and global medical objectives and adherence to SOPs.
- Ensure project needs align with commercial objectives.
- Stay updated on medical insights within relevant therapeutic areas.
- Communicate the annual medical strategy plan with peers and reconcile periodically.
- Develop an action plan based on the medical strategy.
- Implement the annual action plan and ensure sufficient communication with stakeholders.
- Lead medical knowledge management within the company, facilitating the distillation of scientific programs at all levels.
- Identify creative and innovative channels for various medical trainings.
- Represent the company as a scientific expert for KOL engagement and connections with scientific organizations and institutes.
- Cooperate with internal stakeholders to ensure medical compliance and that all medical communications are neutral, balanced, and non-misleading, including the review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials.
Requirements
- Master's degree or above in medical science or clinical medicine; Ph.D. is preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience in medical affairs within one or more related therapeutic fields.
- Experience in formulating and executing clinical studies is preferred.
- Ability to understand complex scientific information and communicate it effectively.
- Team player with the ability to work independently, possessing a high work capacity and the ability to balance priorities.
- Business fluency in English and Japanese.
