About the Role

The Personal Lines Account Manager I provides critical support to clients and manages a book of insurance business. This role facilitates positive and effective relationships with sales and/or account team colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the HUB’s primary contact to the client, working cooperatively with Producers.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues.
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts.
  • Acquire understanding of clients’ business and insurance objectives and critically analyze insurance plans.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues.
  • Negotiate with underwriters and carriers.
  • Troubleshoot claims and billing issues.
  • Develop new business from existing accounts and assigned leads.
  • Identify and follow-up on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized account files by documenting conversations and updating computer systems.
  • Prepare annual review reports and conduct client meetings to review insurance programs and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare reports for management as required.
  • Oversee functions performed by less experienced Account Managers and Client Support Specialists.
  • Stay abreast of changes in the insurance industry and external conditions impacting clients.
  • Attend industry-related continuing education training and courses.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED; College degree strongly preferred.
  • 1-3 years in an insurance Account Management role (brokerage experience preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Currently licensed in good standing in required lines and states.
  • HNW, E&S, Agency Bill, broad marketing/carrier knowledge and experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and agency management systems.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
