About the Role

Philz Coffee is seeking General Managers (GMs) to provide frontline leadership, manage the financial health of their store, and cultivate a culture aligned with the company's core values and mission of Bettering People's Day. GMs will inspire and develop teams, focus on culture, community, and operations, and embody Philz Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Interact daily with customers and employees to inspire and be part of the experience.
• Train and develop team members, providing opportunities for professional development.
• Maximize store financial performance by creating a great work environment that allows the team to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Set goals and expectations for team members, manage performance, and hold them accountable for results.
• Partner with recruiters to attract, develop, and retain diverse, high-performing talent.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing a fast-paced, high-volume, customer service-oriented business, preferably in food service or retail.
• Proven experience in managing the financial health of a retail operation, including P&L oversight, revenue driving, and cost management.
• Proven ability to create an inclusive and dynamic team and work environment.
• Proactive, self-starter who can work well independently and as part of a team.
• Solid business acumen.
• Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train, and retain a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must either have secured a Food Manager certification or successfully complete the Philz Coffee Food Manager certification within the first 30 days of employment.
• Ability to operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
• Visual acuity to make general observations regarding safety and accuracy.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 3 hours.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds intermittently and lift 3 pounds to shoulder height repetitively.
• Ability to grasp, finger, and reach.
• Ability to express or exchange information by spoken word.
