About the Role
Join Hologic's Software Engineering (R&D) department in San Diego, CA, to build exciting new medical device products. You will work on all aspects of product software, including desktop applications, services, and data layers, contributing to design, process, and software quality improvements for automated molecular diagnostic instruments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts, and software architects.
- Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
- Participate and lead technical discussions about technology and infrastructure.
- Define and execute projects independently, dealing well with ambiguous/undefined problems.
- Software requirements and specification definition.
- Software design and development.
- Assay algorithm design and development.
- Enhance existing code through refactoring.
- Code Review.
- Unit and acceptance testing.
- Root cause analysis and defect resolution.
- Documentation.
- Participate and/or lead in Agile planning, scrum, and retrospectives.
- Use company design and development processes.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus 8+ years of related experience or MS plus 6+ years of related experience.
- Prior experience working in an integrated team environment.
- Medical device experience is a plus.
