About the Role

As a Payments Product Manager, you will own products that make up Modern Treasury's Payments offering. You will leverage AI where possible and push the envelope of what AI-enabled product execution looks like. You will be responsible for researching, designing, and delivering products related to onboarding, compliance, payment rails, and liquidity.

Responsibilities

• Manage the experience of getting customers and their end users onto the platform quickly and safely.
• Design onboarding flows that reduce time-to-first-payment while meeting regulatory requirements.
• Translate KYC, KYB, sanctions, and other regulatory requirements into product.
• Deeply understand the design of payment rails, including domestic, international, cross-border, and stablecoin options.
• Prioritize which rails to add and how to expose them in a unified, reliable way.
• Ensure reliability and good support in cases of incidents by working with Customer Success and Support teams.
• Define how funds are funded, held, and moved for efficient payment settlement.
• Develop product capabilities for customer visibility and control over balances and liquidity.
• Interface with existing bank partners and stablecoin partners.
• Scale the Payments offering across geographies.
• Build and run AI-native workflows across the business.
• Identify inefficiencies, scope solutions, and use AI tools to create leverage.
• Go deep with engineers on the details of payment systems.
• Dive into data, including SQL.
• Spend time with customers and prospects to understand their needs.
• Translate customer needs into clear engineering requirements.
• Ship and iterate on products.
• Work across compliance, partnerships, sales, and customer success to deliver.

Requirements

• AI Fluency: Ability to apply modern AI tools to real business problems.
• Payments experience: Built payments products before and familiar with US and international payments.
• Understanding of how payment rails work end to end and what it takes to move money reliably at scale.
• Cross-border expertise: Experience with US and international cross-border payment rails.
• Understanding of operational and regulatory realities of moving money across borders.
• Interest in or experience with stablecoins.
• Technical fluency: Ability to read API docs and bank or scheme specs.
• Customer obsession: Desire to spend time with customers and prospects.
• Ownership at scale: Track record of shipping and iterating on products.
• Comfortable with a dynamic, responsive roadmap driven by customer and partner demands.
