About the Role

The Director, Sales and Client Risk Management (GTB) is a key contributor to the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Internal Control and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program. This role focuses on strategic direction and AML risk management for GTB, partnering with Sales and Client teams to implement operational risk framework tools and ensure robust AML risk management controls. The director also leads strategic AML projects and acts as an Internal Control representative to ensure compliance with regulatory AML issues and financial regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for 1st Line Non-Financial Risk Management Programs across GTB, with a focus on Sales and Client Services.
  • Supports the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program, including scope review, data gathering, and monitoring of remediation action plans.
  • Partners with business lines, technology groups, and control units to ensure new initiatives assess risks appropriately.
  • Ensures Key Risk Indicators for GTB are updated, documented, and justified.
  • Participates in Scenario Analysis by documenting and researching operational loss events.
  • Provides guidance on Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) requirements.
  • Supports the Enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management (eRCM) program by reviewing regulatory obligations and mapping them to GTB business units.
  • Reviews Assessable Units and Assessable Categories (AUACs) and assists units in completing CRCA questionnaires.
  • Provides expert oversight and direction on AML compliance and Sanctions.
  • Advises on regulatory compliance for new regulations, organizational developments, and new products/services.
  • Plays a key role in developing and rolling out process changes and solutions related to GTB’s AML controls.
  • Represents GTB in key working groups for AML and Sanctions Risk Management Policies.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in structuring and rolling out new AML requirements and process changes for onboarding, remediation, and offboarding activities.
  • Supports the GTB business by developing implementation strategies, project plans, and monitoring progress for the AML program.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in KYC, AML/ATF, and economic sanctions for GTB onboarding, products, EDDU, and business units.
  • Leads key initiatives in AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment, Audit resolution coordination, and regulatory response.
  • Represents GTB and undertakes projects to support implementation of changes to enterprise AML/ATF policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial services, including roles in process improvement, auditing, sales, non-financial risk, AML, compliance, and engaging executive management.
  • Experience in enterprise or business line compliance program or operational risk management is preferred.
  • Knowledge in GTB products and wholesale banking products and operating model is an asset.
  • Fast learner with strong analytical skills and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Change agent with high energy, demonstrated ability to work under pressure, deal with ambiguities, and drive for results.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, reporting, and planning skills.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of dealing with complex projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple compliance, audit reviews, and projects concurrently.

Salary/Compensations

  • 185,400.00 - 310,600.00
