About the Role
The Global Controller is responsible for all accounting, reporting, financial operations, tax, and internal control functions for the global Marc Jacobs business. This role offers a bold opportunity for global impact, management, and organization, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and managing four teams. The position is competitively compensated with a full benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting, reporting, financial operations, tax, and internal control functions globally.
- Directly manage the USA and Canada entities of Marc Jacobs.
- Oversee subsidiary entities worldwide.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are understood and consistently deployed.
- Manage Internal Control and Risk Management, Financial Operations, Accounting, and Reporting/Tax teams.
- Provide support for ad-hoc requests from senior management, FP&A, or business operations teams.
- Maintain integrity throughout work product, balancing attention to detail with the big picture.
- Coach the team to maintain integrity and attention to detail.
Requirements
- BS/Masters focused on accounting.
- 10-15 years of experience, preferably including a combination of public accounting and corporate environments.
- Experience within both IFRS and USGAAP frameworks.
- Experience in managing and/or demonstrated understanding of internal control frameworks covering treasury, financial operations, inventory, commercial sales (retail + wholesale), etc.
- Experience in managing and/or demonstrated understanding of risk management including insurance coverage declarations, filing and following insurance claims, risk mitigation.
- Experience in managing and/or demonstrated understanding of financial operations including credit management, AR/AP/Treasury operation and cash management.
- Experience in managing and/or demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, management of related systems of record, P&L and Balance sheet management, oversight and review.
- Experience in managing and/or demonstrated understanding of financial reporting norms, systems and consolidations.
- Experience in managing and/or demonstrated understanding of regulatory and tax reporting and management at USA, states and local levels.
- Highly skilled in active observation, root cause analysis and written/oral communication.
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the MJ organization with the ability to influence change.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Must maintain integrity throughout work product balancing attention to detail with a connection to the big picture.
- Possess a curious, inquisitive spirit and embrace continuous improvements.
- Capable of building a network of individuals inside Marc Jacobs.
- Deliverables are completed with integrity and quality.
- Work in a team-first environment, prioritizing the goals of Marc Jacobs.
