About the Role
The Onboarding and Security Officer will be part of the Group Compliance and Security Team, supporting and administering the onboarding and offboarding of all permanent staff, contractors, and associates. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth and professional onboarding experience, acting as a key point of contact for new starters.

- Deactivate Security Clearances
- Initiate onboarding checks and Security Clearance (DBS, BPSS, SC, etc.)
- Ensure adherence with GOVS007 and HMG SPF requirements
- Manage the tracking of clearances at all levels, including transfer of security clearance
- Gather and appropriately store information in correct systems and tools, updating Salesforce
- Record and track information for new and current clearances against current supplier records
- Request new certificates or vetting renewals in a timely manner
- File and manage documentation for security-related documents
- Communicate effectively to form positive relationships with stakeholders
- Liaise with project and account managers regarding clearance status
- Communicate with suppliers and clients about the status of clearances and onboarding
- Issue security clearance confirmation letters
- Administer SC Aftercare requirements, including Changes of Circumstances and Overseas Travel Briefings
- Administer travel briefings to colleagues
- Assist with internal and external Auditing support and Non-conformance
- Log material and contribute to wider site audits
- Record all security incidents and assist in their investigation and reporting
- Follow processes for secure storage of Company Sensitive and Protectively Marked material
- Deliver security awareness advice to programme teams and senior management
- Contribute to the compilation and updating of new employee security induction material
- Create security policies and procedures to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with the Security Business Partner & Group Security Controller with any queries or complex issues
- Undertake any other reasonable requests from management aligned to security-related matters
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience of security vetting for UK HMG
- General business administration experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate across the business and with clients and associates
- Ability to prioritise workloads, often dealing with urgent clearances immediately
- Flexible attitude with the ability to work under pressure
- Impeccable organisational and administration skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise incoming tasks and carry them out in a time-conscious manner
- Excellent communication skills; articulate with a high level of verbal and written English
- Good understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to work both independently and in a team
- Must have or be willing to go through Security Clearance
- Must be able to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard
