About the Role
Lead the Maritime Infrastructure Department, overseeing daily operations to meet contractual obligations with a focus on safety and efficiency. Manage all aspects of Maritime Assets, including piers, employee welfare spaces, and office facilities, encompassing maintenance, development, and lifecycle planning. Foster relationships with tenants and landlords, lead regulatory compliance, and manage departmental budgets and contracts.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Maritime Infrastructure Department and its day-to-day operations.
- Manage all aspects of Maritime Assets, including piers, equipment, and facilities.
- Oversee maintenance, cleaning, and development of maritime assets.
- Manage third-party relationships with tenants and landlords.
- Lead on regulatory requirements such as river works licenses.
- Develop business cases, manage purchasing, budgets, and contracts for the department.
- Support marine logistics for cruise ship operations.
- Identify and implement environmental and sustainability projects.
- Manage the company's Environmental Management System and ISO 14001:2015.
- Perform general Facilities Management for all company locations.
- Recruit, train, and manage departmental resources.
- Create business and project plans for maritime infrastructure initiatives.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and defect rectification processes.
- Ensure effective processes for managing tenant and landlord requirements.
- Define, implement, and deliver processes and risk assessments for pier operations.
- Define and deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department.
- Define and deliver strategic budgets for long-term investment in the maritime infrastructure estate.
- Negotiate and manage annual budgets.
- Identify and fulfill legislative requirements for maritime infrastructure.
- Coordinate departmental requirements with business objectives and other departments.
- Define departmental training requirements in collaboration with the Safety Department.
- Manage non-staff costs and control the purchasing and PO system.
- Source and manage third-party contractors.
- Plan and coordinate with Fleet and Crew Operations for customer requirements.
- Provide operational insight for designs of new piers and infrastructure.
- Assist in developing and maintaining effective teamwork.
- Provide and promote excellent customer service and identify new technologies.
- Assist with HR matters within the department and support other departments.
- Continuously seek improvements in personal, team, and business performance.
- Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable requests.
- Comply with all Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure speedy and accurate communication of relevant information.
- Effectively and efficiently utilize materials and resources to minimize waste and reduce costs.

Requirements
- Ability to foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities.
- Experience in an environment requiring excellence in safety, operations, and customer service.
- Extensive and demonstrable Marine knowledge, such as serving as Master or in a similar office-based role.
- Ability to think strategically and operate at a management level.
- Flexible approach, including being on call and working outside normal operational hours, including weekends.
