This role supports the Retail Trade and Environmental Practice Groups, focusing on defending specific types of lawsuits and advising clients on environmental and consumer product compliance. Associates gain early client-facing opportunities and have a realistic path to becoming a shareholder.

Responsibilities

• Defend Proposition 65 lawsuits
• Defend California Legal Remedies Act claims
• Defend Unfair Competition and False Advertising claims
• Defend property contamination lawsuits
• Defend citizen suits under the federal Clean Water Act
• Research and advise clients on environmental laws
• Research and advise clients on consumer product compliance laws and regulations

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in California
• Self-starter
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Solid academic credentials
• Excellent writing skills
• Strong analytical abilities
• Consistent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Minimum 1800 billable hours per year
• Minimum 200 non-billable hours per year
