About the Role
Essity seeks an experienced Communications Manager to articulate the company's story in North America. This role involves informing employees about company culture, brand purpose, strategy, and objectives, fostering engagement and pride. Additionally, it aims to increase external awareness of Essity, manage brand reputation across North American operations, and support local business needs for approximately 3,500 employees across 22 offices and production facilities. The role requires executing internal and external communication plans, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and participating in a global communications network.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of Essity’s communications objectives in country-specific annual plans
- Lead communication channel management process
- Evaluate, recommend and execute varied communication tools and media, to include a mix of digital and traditional channels
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely dissemination of news
- Partner with internal contacts in local Essity markets to ensure effective communication of company initiatives, campaigns and projects
- Manage HR and wellness communications
- Contribute to external/PR activities in local markets, including community activities, external events and idea generation
- Develop content including written materials for Intranet, coordinate video production and relevant communications materials
- Support a wide range of communications events and projects in North America, including effective execution of quarterly update meetings, global news dissemination and local activities
- Contribute to best practice sharing within the global communications function
- Work alongside agency partners to deliver best-in-class communications initiatives and digital content that drive global communications objectives
- Support special projects in collaboration with the Corporate Communications team
Requirements
- University Degree in Communication, Public Relations or Marketing, or equivalent with relevant practice
- 7+ years working experience in Communications, PR or Marketing, preferably in matrixed and/or global company
- Superior writing, editing, communication, presentation, networking and relationship building skills mandatory
- Interpersonal savviness and the ability to influence at a senior level and navigate efficiently within the organization
- Basic project management experience
- Creative thinker with ability to bring business data and information to life in engaging and impactful ways
- Strong time management skills, ability to juggle multiple projects and respond to business needs as they arise
- Excellent digital communication skills (intranet platforms, Microsoft Teams, video production, basic Photoshop, collaboration tools, social media, etc.)
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, Outlook
- Expertise in external communications and media relations, agency management
- Expertise in internal communications, consulting and project management
- Excellent English language skills
- Ability to travel (less than 10%)
