About the Role
Responsible for transporting goods by van or carts to various locations on and off campus for catering purposes. This role involves inspecting the delivery vehicle, verifying lists, and loading/unloading goods. The individual will maintain detailed delivery records, including temperature checks and transfer paperwork, and ensure proof of receipt.
Responsibilities
- Drive van to transport product, both on and off campus (catering purposes only)
- Support locations on campus with required items
- Deliver items in a timely manner
- Prepare, load, unload, and operate delivery vehicles
- Perform temperature checks for goods being transported
- Conduct and record daily vehicle inspections
- Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation
- Comply with all government/University policies and legislation (Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Employment Standards, Human Rights & Labor Law and Harassment)
- Assist stores/receiver person with tasks when not transporting items on campus
- Complete daily sign-off on paperwork related to temperatures, vehicle checks, and cleaning
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Catering Manager
Requirements
- Demonstrates an understanding of basic sanitation procedures
- Must be able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazardous chemicals
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Exceptional communication skills
- High Attention to Detail
- Team oriented
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Possess a valid G license with a satisfactory driver's abstract
- Employment is conditional upon providing a valid Ontario Class G class driver's licence and a satisfactory 3-Year Driver's Abstract
- May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
