About the Role

Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmission planning studies, including steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analysis to support the design of the future power grid.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system impact studies including Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
  • Conduct NERC-compliance-related technical analyses such as TPL-001-4 Annual Planning Assessments
  • Perform full generator interconnection studies including Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies
  • Ensure renewable and storage resource projects meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements
  • Participate in ERCOT working group meetings and case building efforts
  • Prepare technical study reports
  • Process, generate, and maintain data for all studies
  • Manage project timelines, quality, and budget objectives
  • Identify and communicate training needs to the Engineering Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2-4+ years of experience as a power systems engineer
  • Experience performing power system impact studies
  • Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA
  • Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to change
  • Strong technical report writing skills
