About the Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for overall site production operations, creating a work environment that promotes safety, quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness. This role effectively develops teams to achieve corporate improvement objectives and is accountable for all aspects of plant production performance while ensuring objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner. The role drives best practices and leads process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates activities to assure safety, quality, delivery, and cost meet specified targets.
  • Assures compliance with behavior-based safety initiatives and continuously improves safety performance.
  • Executes quality control plans for compliance to standards and drives variation reduction.
  • Assesses on-time delivery performance and develops actions for improvement.
  • Manages cost through effective management of labor, overtime, and expenditures.
  • Determines staffing requirements and redeploys resources as needed.
  • Reviews and analyzes production reports to determine root causes of variance and develops corrective actions.
  • Improves productivity, decreases lead times, reduces waste, and attains customer quality requirements using Lean principles.
  • Recommends and initiates cost reduction programs centered around capital improvements.
  • Promotes, prepares, and participates in kaizen activities and sustains results.
  • Facilitates the execution of daily Gemba walk.
  • Coordinates staffing levels with Human Resource Manager.
  • Directs plant supervision to ensure consistent application of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Coaches and mentors team members for ongoing development.
  • Stays abreast of new trends and developments in production methods and equipment.
  • Researches and recommends capital equipment purchases.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A hands-on leader with high integrity, positive influence, and strong business acumen.
  • Embraces change and possesses a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Has a passion for exceeding customer and company expectations.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Operations and/or Lean Management.
  • Experience in being a change agent in complex transformational activities.
  • Significant experience in implementation of Lean principles as they apply to manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to determine root cause of problems and provide effective countermeasures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced excel skills.

Salary/Compensations

  • $125,000 - $130,000 annually
