About the Role

The Enphase Energy SST Product Innovation Team, part of the Office of the CTO, is responsible for defining, prototyping, and scaling next-generation energy storage and power systems. This role involves hands-on leadership focused on eliminating loss mechanisms through innovation, optimization, and cross-functional integration to improve energy density, reliability, and system efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the power density rapid increase roadmap, defining target metrics and driving cross-functional execution.
  • Identify and implement the simplest, highest-impact solutions for power density and packaging challenges.
  • Map and systematically attack all power conversion loss mechanisms, including conduction, switching, magnetic, capacitive, and control overhead.
  • Integrate with mechanical and thermal teams to translate efficiency gains into cooling system optimization and footprint reduction.
  • Define and enforce component-level and system-level loss budgets.
  • Benchmark and track industry trends to identify technology gaps and opportunities.
  • Mentor and grow the power density team, fostering a culture of loss-awareness and power-density-first thinking.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a closely related field.
  • BS + 15 years, MS + 12 years, or PhD + 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep knowledge of power converter topologies and proven expertise in designing power converters.
  • Mastery of conduction, switching, magnetic, capacitive, and thermal loss mechanisms, with the ability to derive loss equations and build loss budgets.
  • Deep understanding of state-of-the-art power semiconductor device characteristics, loss models, and gate drive requirements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate technical details and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Self-driven ownership and a focus on solution-oriented thinking.
