About the Role

The Data Engineer designs, builds, and supports data pipelines, integrations, and curated datasets to power analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives for PBK’s Architecture vertical and AEC operations. This role ensures data reliability, governance, and security across enterprise platforms like Salesforce, Deltek Vantagepoint, Autodesk, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations across enterprise systems.
  • Implement data models, curated datasets, and Lakehouse/Warehouse structures for BI and AI use cases.
  • Build API-first data services, data contracts, and integration workflows.
  • Develop orchestration and scheduling processes using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and related tools.
  • Apply event-driven integration patterns using Event Grid, Service Bus, or Kafka.
  • Manage operational reliability, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation, lineage, and governance practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support secure access and compliance.
  • Prepare reliable datasets for AI/ML pipelines and RAG-oriented workflows.
  • Utilize AI tools to improve productivity, development, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and operating production data pipelines and integrations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and orchestration.
  • Strong experience with APIs and integration patterns including REST and webhooks.
  • Familiarity with SDLC and CI/CD practices using GitHub Enterprise or Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of security, data governance, and access controls.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
