About the Role
Provide strategic leadership and oversee the company's mining operations, project development, and long-term growth initiatives. Drive operational excellence, maximize asset value, lead large multidisciplinary teams, and ensure sustainable, safe, and profitable business performance across multiple mining projects.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company's strategic vision and long-term business objectives.
- Lead all aspects of the organization's operational and financial performance.
- Build and mentor an experienced executive leadership team.
- Provide executive oversight of multiple mining operations and development projects.
- Ensure assets achieve production, safety, environmental, and financial targets.
- Oversee project execution from development through construction, commissioning, and operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across mining, processing, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and support functions.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and new mining investments.
- Lead feasibility evaluations and capital allocation decisions.
- Optimize portfolio performance while managing operational and market risks.
- Maintain full accountability for P&L performance.
- Develop and execute annual business plans, operating budgets, and capital investment strategies.
- Deliver sustainable shareholder value through disciplined financial management.
- Report directly to the Board of Directors on company performance, strategic initiatives, and key business risks.
- Build strong relationships with investors, government authorities, regulatory agencies, joint venture partners, and key industry stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with international governance, ESG, environmental, and health & safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within the mining industry.
- Proven experience serving as CEO, President, Managing Director, Country Manager, COO, Executive Vice President, or in a comparable executive leadership role.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale mining operations and multiple projects across different jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of mine development, production, mineral processing, project execution, finance, and corporate governance.
- Experience leading multinational and multicultural organizations.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
