About the Role

The Maintenance Project Engineer will manage activities related to maintenance evolutions and support functions for the fleet, ensuring safe, proper, and efficient maintenance in accordance with company policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate maintenance activities including installing, inspecting, testing, repairing, adjusting, and calibrating equipment and instrumentation.
  • Plan and conduct major maintenance outages.
  • Provide support and training for WIN Waste Innovations’ CMMS program.
  • Supervise assigned projects and provide oversight.
  • Coordinate work with outside contractors, engineers, and in-house maintenance.
  • Confer with Engineering Department to determine project details.
  • Assist in the development of work scopes, requests for proposals, and purchase orders.
  • Prepare specifications for bid negotiation, contracts, and rate estimations.
  • Manage contractors during projects.
  • Monitor project schedules.
  • Obtain permits when required.
  • Perform project engineering tasks including cost estimates, schedules, purchase documents, drawing reviews, and field work.
  • Support Engineering and Maintenance Departments in identifying and executing capital improvement projects.
  • Assist with developing 5-year maintenance plans and budgets.
  • Anticipate and identify potential or recurring problems and take appropriate action.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and assist in diagnosing problem areas.
  • Assist with CMMS program updates, revising standard operating procedures, and supporting training activities.
  • Fully participate in safety programs.
  • Fulfill commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Fulfill responsibilities required to achieve a high level of quality.
  • Complete corporate and plant training programs within the prescribed timeframe.
  • Follow standard safety procedures and correct safety and environmental hazards.
  • Read and understand lockout/tagout, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Five years of experience in the power generation industry.
  • Minimum of three years of project management experience.
  • Experience in an incineration plant environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of steam turbine-generator operations, components, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CMMS programs.
  • Maintain all licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.
