About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on professional for our growing systems administration team. Systems Administrators are responsible for the workstations and servers of our rapidly expanding trading operations, frequently interacting with users across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Install workstations on trading floors and in offices.
- Install servers and networking appliances in data centers, sometimes requiring travel.
- Perform hardware maintenance.
- Execute large-scale build-outs, sometimes requiring domestic and international travel.
- Install office appliances such as printers, phones, and televisions.
Requirements
- Fluency in Linux administration is a must.
- Experience in Debian/Ubuntu preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and tolerate frequent context switches.
- Experience with BIND, Ansible, Linux KVM, Zabbix, and Google workplace collaboration and productivity tools.
- Some Windows administration skills are a plus, but not required.
- Experience scripting in bash and python is preferred, SQL and Perl a plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools including 2FA, iptable rulesets, Malwarebytes, fail2ban, etc.
- Ability to move and install equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Preference to apply a breadth of experience towards varied responsibilities in a small-shop environment.
- Comfortable with hands-on work, racking and stacking in datacenters is commonplace.
