About the Role
We are seeking a motivated attorney with significant European employment law experience, preferably in employment dispute resolution in the UK, France, or Germany. This role involves partnering closely with International HR and business teams to manage a wide range of European employment and employee equity matters. It offers an excellent opportunity for mid-to-senior-level employment lawyers to apply their expertise in a multinational setting and gain specialized knowledge in employee equity arbitration.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day counseling on employment, contingent workforce (CWF), and HR compliance issues across Europe (UK, EU, Switzerland), covering recruitment, employee management, CWF management, terminations, leaves, benefits, wage and hour, and internal HR operations.
- Review, revise, and update employment-related agreements and HR policies, providing guidance on their implementation to HR and business teams.
- Manage workplace and employee equity compensation-related disputes.
- Conduct training for internal stakeholders on employment and ESOP issues.
Requirements
- Legal qualification in the UK, an EU member state, or another international jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in employment or equity compensation law, gained at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department of a multinational company.
- Deep experience in UK or EU employment laws is a plus.
- Meaningful experience handling employment litigation/arbitration is a plus.
- Experience handling equity compensation-related litigation/arbitration is a further plus.
- Strong advocacy and oral communication skills.
- Fluency in oral and written English in a legal context is required.
- Chinese proficiency is essential for effective communication with stakeholders in China.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional business judgment.
- Ability to think strategically and provide practical advice to HR and business teams.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with and gain respect from stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High integrity and a sincere desire to collaborate.
- Openness to international travel, including to European countries and China.
