About the Role

CIBC World Markets Corp. seeks an Executive Director, Commodities and Fixed Income Risk Manager to analyze market risk for US commodity, bonds, and rates trading activities. Establish risk frameworks and processes to control and monitor against all market risks. Maintain continuous awareness of risk profiles and market developments. Facilitate effective dissemination of timely and accurate market risk information to senior management. Design, build, and enhance risk models to ensure market risks are appropriately captured. Prepare risk analyses in connection with business requests for new initiatives, financial products, and large trades.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market risk for US commodity, bonds, and rates trading activities.
  • Establish risk frameworks and processes to control and monitor against all market risks.
  • Maintain continuous awareness of risk profiles and market developments.
  • Facilitate effective dissemination of timely and accurate market risk information to senior management.
  • Design, build, and enhance risk models to ensure market risks are appropriately captured.
  • Prepare risk analyses in connection with business requests for new initiatives, financial products, and large trades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with market risk management in a financial industry setting.
  • 3 years of experience quantifying and analyzing market risks by applying financial risk methodologies and metrics, including value-at-risk, stress testing, and risk sensitivities.
  • 3 years of experience with the pricing and risks associated with linear and non-linear trading products.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing API and other functionalities of Bloomberg terminals.
  • 3 years of experience with data analytics.
  • Legally eligible to work at the specified location.
  • May be asked to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills tests.
