About the Role
The Global New Business Director will drive strategic commercial growth and exceed new business quotas for the Global Risk Insights (GRI) team. This senior leadership position, based in London, involves managing, coaching, and scaling a global team of sales executives and specialists to accelerate subscription revenue for Dragonfly and Oxford Analytica. The role focuses on transforming the sales approach into a sophisticated, data-led engine leveraging metrics and market segmentation.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage, motivate, and coach a globally distributed team of sales executives and specialized sales professionals to consistently hit revenue targets.
- Provide continuous mentorship and executive involvement on complex sales cycles, commercial negotiation, and high-value pipeline management.
- Foster a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, collaborative execution, and professional development.
- Lead the team in proactive pipeline generation through rigorous territory planning and individual prospecting, including event and campaign selection.
- Partner with Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to optimize outbound prospecting, accelerate lead qualification, and maximize market penetration.
- Collaborate across the wider Dow Jones B2B Sales organization to establish a bidirectional referral pipeline and participate in cross-functional selling teams.
- Run the team using best-practice data-led engine principles, including pipeline coverage tracking, sales velocity insight, conversion metrics, CRM excellence, road-to-quota metrics, territory plans, and ICP clarity.
- Own the global new business pipeline, delivering accurate forecasts to executive leadership to guarantee quota delivery.
- Drive net-new enterprise subscription growth across Dragonfly and Oxford Analytica services.
- Articulate the unique value proposition of Oxford Analytica’s macro-political foresight and Dragonfly’s operational security intelligence.
- Think creatively about selling GRI content sets alongside Dow Jones Risk and Compliance products.
- Guide the team in selling complex, high-value information solutions blending proprietary data, original research, and expert analysis.
- Act as an executive sponsor on major, complex deals, building trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders.
- Lead by modeling consultative, solution-based selling methodologies that map risk products to clients' strategic business priorities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Sales.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven sales leadership experience managing B2B teams.
- Demonstrable track record of consistently hitting and exceeding group quotas in competitive landscapes.
- Extensive background in subscription-based information services of geopolitical risk intelligence, country risk datasets, security analysis solutions.
- Preference for individuals with experience in advisory sales.
- Proven success in designing, implementing, or running a structured, data-led sales engine.
- Highly proficient in utilizing data analytics and CRM workflows to optimize pipeline health and drive strategic sales activities.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex corporate structures and collaborate across matrixed B2B environments.
- Experience building referral networks and winning deals within joint selling teams.
- Strong history of closing and guiding teams through complex, multi-stakeholder, enterprise-level transactions with long sales cycles.
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Natural ability to command the attention of executive boardrooms and internal matrixed stakeholders.
