About the Role

Texas Oncology is seeking a Radiation Therapist to administer radiation therapy treatments to patients with accuracy in positioning the radiation beam and delivering the prescribed dose. This role supports the US Oncology Compliance Program and ensures patient safety and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Administers radiation therapy treatments to patients.
  • Ensures accuracy in positioning the radiation beam to correspond with the designated tumor volume.
  • Accurately delivers the prescribed dose of radiation.
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record.
  • Participates in the clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
  • Assists in maintaining the patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
  • Cuts blocks, when applicable.
  • Makes custom molds.
  • Completes simple mu calculations.
  • Interprets a computerized treatment plan.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Must hold a valid state license for radiation therapy.
  • Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
