About the Role
Join an interdisciplinary team of machine learners, protein engineers, and biologists to architect novel generative models for designing functional proteins to control biology and cure diseases.
Responsibilities
- Curate training and evaluation data
- Develop ML evaluation metrics aligned with real-world success
- Prototype generative models and perform deep analysis of improvements
- Collaborate in a shared codebase while maintaining high code standards
- Maintain compute and ML development infrastructure
- Plan wet lab testing campaigns in collaboration with the biology team
- Perform model inference against biological targets
- Integrate wet lab results back into model training
- Stay current with ML research developments
- Develop a working understanding of protein and cell biology
- Participate in knowledge sharing and internal reading groups
- Attend and present at industry conferences
Requirements
- Proven expertise in generative modeling
- Track record of notable ML projects via open source, product launches, or high-impact publications
- Experience writing robust, tested, and maintainable ML code
- Proficiency with version control and code review systems
- Experience with cloud hardware, parallelizing data, and model training
- Experience building scalable ML data pipelines
- Deep understanding of deep learning architecture and hardware optimization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
