About the Role
RVA is seeking a motivated Engineering Student to join our dynamic Transportation Lighting and Signals Team. We offer flexible Co-op opportunities ranging from 4, 8, 12 and 16 months, starting in Fall 2026. Contribute to impactful projects and gain hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Periodic field visits to review existing conditions, assess conflicts, and provide support during construction.
- Design of roadway lighting, duct bank layout, and traffic signal infrastructure projects.
- Help prepare AutoCAD and MicroStation design drawings.
- Provides office support during the construction stage of projects.
- Assist with quantity calculations and preparing tender documents.
- Conduct site visits.
- Assist in roadway lighting loading calculations.
- Assist project team in preparing memorandum/report.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in third year in an electrical engineering program at an accredited university.
- Consideration will be provided to those enrolled in a civil engineering program.
- Must have a valid G Class Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
- Superior English communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to work in an interactive team atmosphere.
Skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation is an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
