About the Role
The DB Actuarial Analyst will undertake pricing and actuarial input required to support delivery of DB Data True Ups and other tasks relating to in-force business.
Responsibilities
- Support Head of True up, DB Actuary and DB Senior Actuarial Analyst in accurate and timely delivery of data true ups.
- Prepare internal sign off documentation produced for each quotation, ensuring results are presented in a clear manner, outlining all material areas of judgement and limitations.
- Prepare drafts of client deliverables / data true up letters to be issued externally.
- Carry out all necessary BAU work for in force business which includes scheme valuations.
- Prepare scheme valuations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare individual member calculations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop a deep knowledge of all systems and tools used by the True up team.
- Proactively help to drive projects forward to ensure they are progressed in line with expected timescales.
- Proactively work to promote a culture of collaboration and engagement within the True up team.
- Enthusiastically leverage new technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
Requirements
- Actuarial or Maths related degree is desirable, and / or working towards FIA qualification with some relevant experience.
- Desire for an Actuarial career.
- Understanding of actuarial principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with DB pension scheme benefits, and regulation is desirable.
- Familiarity with life insurance principles and regulation is desirable.
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
