About the Role

The Bartender is responsible for positive guest interactions, mixing and serving beverages in a high-paced environment, ensuring guests feel welcome, relaxed, and comfortable.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take beverage orders.
• Check identification to verify age for alcohol purchase.
• Mix drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages.
• Ensure the assigned bar is neatly kept and fully equipped.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
• Process guest bills and handle cash transactions.
• Enforce rules and regulations to limit problems and liability.
• Develop an efficient work pace to satisfy guests.
• Organize bottles and wash glasses.
• Understand local identification and drinking age laws.
• Manage guest intake to prevent over-intoxication and drinking and driving.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to applicable statutes, rules, and regulations.
• Must have a NYS Food Handlers Permit.
• Must obtain a Tips Certification.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries from team members or guests.
• Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to compute mathematical calculations.
• Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
• Moderate physical ability to lift or maneuver at least fifteen (15) pounds.
• Prolonged standing during the shift.
• Ability to handle intoxicated guests in a professional manner.
• Ability to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
